Redundancy - JSB - sole trader dilemma

The company I worked for recently went into liquidation. I applied for JSB the following week. I was approached to do some work by a client of the company that went into liquidation - I was also offered holiday relief work for two weeks, for these I have to do up invoices, therefore I thought it best to seek an accountant and set up as a sole trader. I have only just spotted the short-term enterprise allowance in the key post section and was wondering if there is a possibility that I may still be eligible for this allowance? I have only set up as a sole trader this week, also I have made contact with my social welfare office, but am waiting for a response.

Best talk to them. What did they say to them when you contacted them? What response are you waiting on?

Thank you for the reply Wefarite. I basically asked if I was to continue receiving payments, as the holiday cover is for two weeks, and the freelance work could well have been a one off. My regret is that I did not know about the short-term enterprise allowance. I guess I am hoping that they will get back to me and tell me I am still eligible, even though I may have put the horse before the cart!

Going to fill out the form straight away. Fingers crossed I am not too late and all will go well. Thank you.
