Hi
Well looks like the day has finally arrived and redundancy is on the horizon.

The Senior Management have decided that it needs to cut 50% of the workforce in the area I am working.
I am a manager in this area and if I do the numbers correctly (last in first out) I will be for the chop.
At the moment the senior management are in discussions with union and the end of the process is nearing.
I am not in the union and I have raised to Senor Management that I would like to discuss my own package, which they do not have a problem with.
If anybody has been in this type of situation I would welcome any sort of advise you might have on this experience , Do’s and Don’ts , how to discuss package (2 weeks stat + 3 weeks for every year with 52 week cap has been offered to union)
Any ideas are appreciated
Thanks

AFAIK the employer has to offer every employee the same package - you could check with citizens advice on this - I was made redundant in '07 & either it was through the local management setting the conditions in preparation for their own destiny (Co was an American Multi-N) or else having to comply with the law but we got the same conditions that were in place 2 years previously - 2 Stat + 4 Weeks per Year - Non union .
