Redundancy in HSE

As things have stood up to now, there is no redundancy for permanent pensionable employees in the public service.

However, this situation is likely to change in the future as the result of An Bord Snip and the need to reduce salary costs in the public service (including the HSE). Nothing is confirmed at the moment, so it is just rumour.
 
The job losses recommended by An Bord Snip will be achieved by a process of natural wastage and an early incentivised retirement scheme.
The question of forced redundancies should not apply and in any event will be fought tooth and nail as will the question of pay cuts by the Unions.
