Redundancy from Recruitment agency

Hi,

Ive been working for a Pharmaceutical Company for the last three and a half years on contract with a 20 week break. I am paid through a recruitment agency. I've been told that I may be entitled to redundancy from the Recruitment agency?? I worked for 2.5 years straight and then i was left go for twenty weeks and taken back with the same pharma company and recruitment agency.

Does anyone know If this is correct?

Thanks for your help in advance.

After 2.5 years, you would have been due statutory redundancy if they were not giving you your job back. The fact that it is an employment agency is irrelevant.

It is not clear from your post. Have you been laid off again? I think that they will argue that the new stint is the only stint.

Given that the state will pay 60% of the cost, the agency should be trying to get you the maximum redundancy. If you were working through them for 3 years plus, they have made a lot of money on you.

Yes I've been laid off again and it is for good this time the Pharma company have left go all their contract staff..

The last time I was left go I wasnt aware I was entitled to this and the Recruitment agency never mentioned it..

When I researched redundancy it said if i was let go but taken back on within 26 weeks it would not affect my redundancy..

I really hope they wont be difficult as this money would be a great help!!
