Redundancy, college and jobseekers benefit?

I'm currently considering taking a VR package in my job. I'd possibly go back to college to do a post grad.

I'm aware that you can only claim Job Seekers benefit for 12 months until it expires.

BUT

I'm wondering if I was to go back to college and start claiming JSB in June/July when the course is finished would I still be entitled to the full 12 months from then or is the 12 months from when I take redundancy?

I'm 99.9% it's the former but would like someone to confirm this? Tried ringing the welfare office earlier today to confirm this but no one answered the phone.

Any ideas?
