Hi,
A friend worked for the company she is at now for 8 years, left to work elsewhere for 3 years and returned to the first company 2 years ago. When she returned she was given a new contract of employment but was able to go back into the pension scheme where she left it.
The company is now talking about redundancies and she is worried that as senitority is being used in her department as a criteria she will be gone soon. At least she has 2 years complete so that will be something.
So the query is, can the previous 8 years of service be used as part of calculations for redundancy or is this something that she should have discussed up front if she felt it should have been part of her terms?
Even as I type this, clutching at straws springs to mind, but maybe there are some rules around this type of situation !
Thanks is advance,
