This crossed my mind today after a work mate had €400 taken out of his credit card a/c even though his card wasn't stolen.
Only have a Debit card myself but this does apply to credit cards as well as my workmate pointed out.
Cross out the 3 digit code on the back of these cards as this is usually required when making on line transactions.
Of course make sure you have some kind of record of the numbers for your own use.
