Redeployment unsuitable location

I currently work in retail and my employer is relocating within our current shopping center (blanchardstown) to new premises .My role(assistant Manager) has been identified as being no longer required .My employer was offering 5 wks redeundency for each yr but the have obligation to find me a alternative place employment PROBLEM!!!! They have found me a role in Liffey Valley ,problem is where i live there is no public transport at moment i get a lift off OH to work i physically cant get to new role but employer have staed that they deem suitable
I did work in liffey for current employer 4 yrs ago but circumstances have drasticly changed i had car at the time ,living with parents 1 child,now i have mortage no car and 2 children
Am scared that if I refuse role i loose entiltlement to redeundency but I cant see how I can accept as i cant get to new role HELPPP

I don't understand why they are offering you reduncancy AND an alternative role. It is normally just one or the other. It may well be illegal for them to pay you redundancy if you are still an employee (at the other branch).
