I have used software up to now to record off the sound card to MP3, primarily talk radio such as BBC Radio 4 and Newstalk 106. Up to now it has worked well.
Last week it stopped working. The sound card is fine and the streamed broadcast continues to play through the speakers. When I record it, the MP3 file is created but no sound.
I have been using CDEX to do this and, thinking it was a software problem, I downloaded some freeware to see if it would work. Nope - both programs will work as described and record for the specified length of time but there's nothing on the file.
Anyone here use their PC in this way and know a bit more than me about recording in this manner ?
