Got the table a few weeks a go and finally got around to using it. On the plus side it is substantial, well thought out and put together. It's quite a professional piece of kit and armed with some decent cutters you could produce some quality work. Now for the niggles: I thought the dust extract arrangement was basic, but I improved on this with some white 40mm waste pipe, some fittings and duct tape. The sliding carriage is great but the hold down clamp and cross cut fence won't allow you to exert that much holding force. There was no fingerboard arrangement supplied to press the work in contact with the main fence, a big downside- given that most DIY tables would supply this as standard. I made up an effective finger board in MDF which will run in the slots of the main table to overcome this. The mounting arrangement for the router is fiddly but very secure, although I imagine my router is pretty much permanently fixed there forever now- as I don't think I'd be bothered to remove it! The NVR switch is great, gives you great sense of safety- although I notice that this has disabled the electronic brake on the router, although this is not a problem for table work. I don't have any 1/2" bits (yet), all mine are 1/4" so the table is really not being put to the test at the moment. I imagine that this table, teamed with a powerful router (like my Makita 1/2") and some good 1/2" bits could be a great little workhorse.I'd give the taqble a thumbs up but like any other type of machine there is some element of set up and fine tuning involved. I'll probably improve on the table in time with some of my own home-made jigs to allow me to set up and work more quickly. As a by the way the "record" collet extension I got with the table was in fact a "Trend".
