Recommended Management Accounting Course or Books

Hi,
I have recently been promoted to managing director in the business and part of the job will obviously be dealing with company accounts. I have a basic accounting knowledge but am looking for recommended courses or books which would help me with the understanding and interpretation of accounts from a management perspective. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks
 
If you look at IATI website or give them a call they may be able to steer you in right direction. I do know someone that did a management accounting course as he was a manager and did not have accounting background, but it was a year course with exams.
 
Thanks for the reply. Perhaps I didnt make my post clear enough. i will certainly not be doing company accounts and have no interest in doing so. What I am looking for is how to increase my understanding of what is presented in the company accounts and how to interpret and assess them from a management viewpoint.
