Recommended accessories for PS3?

Santa needs help in deciding what accessories to give with PS3 (cables etc.)

Is anything additional required to run PS2 games on PS3?

The 60 GB PS3 (€600) plays PS2 games, the 40 GB PS3 (€399) does not unfortunately. It also seems like the 40GB will be the only one available from now on. Accessories could include extra controller - €50, stand €?, HD cable for tv's with HD, other than that the most important thing is get the right games. Have you bought PS3 yet?
 
i remember when i got my son ps2 a few years ago he asked about a memory card the next day. is it the same for ps3, how much are they?

Got the 60GB model in Argos. Heard that there is a memory card adapter you can buy and wondered if this is required to run PS2 games on the PS3?

The PS3 can create a virtual memory card on the hard disk so you shouldn't need one.
 
No memory card needed. PS3 has harddrive. How about remote control for watching movies?
