Recommendaton for fireplace restoration

Hi,

Just bought a cast iron fireplace from c.1890. It needs to be wire brushed or sand blasted and then sprayed or painted.

Anyone any ideas who does this type of work in Dublin?

To get it paint stripped you could call Dipstrip 012805606 in Dun Laoghaire.
He will collect it and deliver it back to you.
Regarding finishing of the fire surround you could get painted (matt black for preference) or just leave it as it is.
What some people do is put something like Zbright (not sure if I've spelt it right or not) on it then shine it up.

Theres a guy called David OReilly on Francis Street who sells fireplaces having done them up but I think he might also do what u want - I found him very decent and straightforward (to buy from).

Thanks for the suggestions. I found someone in Harolds Cross (The Fireplace Gallery). Actually used him years ago but lost track of him til my mother said that he now had that place going. Getting a quote from him at the weekend.
