Recommendations for ceramic hobs

I want to buy a ceramic hob and would appreciate any guidelines/advice on what I should be looking out for. Many thanks.
 
I just bought one from NOYEKS and they have the latest Nordmende ceramic hobs aswell.

Ceramic hobs range from basic with knobs, to advanced with timer buttons, locking mechanism etc.

Things you might want to consider are the position of the knobs (to the side if you have children), whether you want a timer or lock. I believe induction hobs are good, but you need special pots and pans to go on them, they are expensive as it is and the pots will add more to your bill.

We have a new ceramic, very basic model and it's great, heats up almost instantly.

get bosch, same as siemens and miele but better value, if you get induction you will need a new set of pans as well.

Thanks for mentioning the pans' thing, noah. I wouldn't have thought of that. Don't think I can afford more pans at this stage. So, no induction, I reckon.
 
the standard size is 600mm wide but you can get 700,750,800,850 or 900 in certain brands.neff are doing a deal at the moment with their induction hobs-you get a set of pots free.neff are pricey though.
 
You can always check out your existing pots and see if a magnet sticks to the bottom of them. If it does then they can be used on an induction hob.
Argos have a couple of different pot sets that can be used on induction hobs all around the 50euro mark.
Induction is a lot faster and more economical than ordinary hobs as well.
 
with ceramic hobs there are only 2/3 glass manufacturers and as the ceramic glass is the main part of the hob its foolish to pay big money for a "brand".Look at the glass and you will be surprised how have the brand"Ceran" Look for value for money over brand
 
looks ok but check out Powercity/Harvey Norman/Argos/ Expert/Euronics there is value out there if you look for it
