Recommendations for an accountant to achieve tax efficiency.

Hi,

Does anyone have recommendations for an accountant that can do the following:

1. Annual Tax return for PAYE Employee with a single Rented Investment Property, nothing out of the ordinary
2. Advise on Pension Planning
3. Advise on Tax Efficiency - shares sales etc

Almost any accountant in the country can look after this for you.

For this, you really need to be talking to a life/pensions advisor rather than an accountant. Beware ending up being the lad who asks his barber does he need a haircut.

I'd expect that most accountants would be very wary of giving advice on tax avoidance, as it is fraught with risk.

I presume that you actually mean planning investments for tax efficiency and not actual tax avoidance?

Not always. Certain avoidance is not ok. E.g. transactions artificially structured mainly or solely to benefit from tax reliefs and which might not otherwise be carried out of such relief was not available.

In the context of an individual looking for an accountant recommendation to help them with their tax i.e to avoid tax, thats fine in my book in fact its more than fine. They aint evading tax their simply looking for ways to avoid paying more tax than they need to. Avoidance, good. Evasion, bad.
 
Apologies I should have not used the word avoidance, I was trying to differentiate from evasion. Having read the Link that Clubman posted I now understand avoidance is inappropriate. So yes, let me rephrase it to:

Tax efficiency
 
I have an accountant already but I am dissatisfied with their service and looking to change.
