Recommendation - where to rent a car

hi all,

My main car is currently off the road and it looks like it will be for quite some time - very long story. Can anyone one give a recommendation on a where to go to rent a car? Obviously I am aware of the Hertz/Murrays but I see them catering for more to the tourist markets - maybe I'm wrong.

They can also transfer your car insurance to their car temporarily while your car is off the road, if you want.
