I am looking for a recommendation for a family holiday - 1 week in either Spain/Portugal. 3 kids from 10 to 14, beach, water activities, relatively quiet, if possible. Private house/villa with pool might suit. June.
You might consider somewhere like Salou/Reus area. On the coast, fairly touristy from what I can remember, but I'm sure you could stay out from the resort a bit if that's not your thing. Big bonus is that Port Aventura (a Universal theme park) is close to Reus which will keep your young ones occupied.
ryan air also do cheap flights from shannon to girona which will get you to with in an hout of salou and they also fly into reus which is closer to salou it has a good beach and water park and if you got a private villa you should be able to stay away from the very touristy spots
