Hi there!
I am new to askaboutmoney.com! We are buying a new house in Kilkenny and since we don't come from the area - in fact we are currently living abroad - we would be very grateful to hear of anyone's experiences - good or bad - with kitchen suppliers in and around the Kilkenny/Kildare/Wexford area. We are looking for good quality in design and materials as we expect to be in this house for many years. Would be very interested in hearing other people's kitchen stories!

Welcome to AAM and congratulations on purchasing in the medieval city - you will be very happy here!
Kitchen recommendations:
Castle cabinets - Castle Road
Brennans DIY in Loughboy Industrial Estate for the cheap but looks good. they fit out also
My personal favourite is Diamond Woodcraft in Carlow - their kitchens are amazing and I've seen a few! Very reliable, and also stock full range of appliances. (very handy) We are currently using them for our new kitchen.
Any use?
Do you need more recommendations?
Will get back to you if I think of any more.

Sinnotts in Kells are very good, they'll custom build anything you want. They did my parent's kitchen, and my brother's. They can be very busy though.

Hi, I can highly recommend PMD in Ballyfoyle, very very good quality bespoke kitchens and good service from from both a design and fitting view point. They have showrooms near Kilkenny on the Balyfoyle Road, well worth a visit even if you end up going elsewhere. We used them before in our last home and will use them again as soon as we can get a few quid together! Web address is http://www.pmdwood.com, hope that helps.

Have you tried Ernie Fennelly in Carlow? I had a cream kitchen installed by them about two months ago. They actually matched a colour that i choose from a chart. They have a wed site www.woodaledesigns.ie and anyone you speak to will highly recommend them.

I would recommend www.DIYKitchens.ie - Based in Wexford

There website only shows a small perecentage of the kitchens they can supply and the prices were the best I could find.

Hi Leo,
As chance would have it, was out in Sinnotts showrooms today. Was impressed with their stuff but can't get a price without a design. They assure me they can make a kitchen to any (within reason) price eg, less mechanisms, cheaper counter top etc. Was you parent's and brother's kitchens reasonable? I could get a good looking kitchen in pannelling centre for 10K. Was wondering can they do the same, as would prefer to shop local

Have you tried Country Kitchens in Ballymore Eustace? A bit more expensive than the norm but did a top class job for us and would recommend them to anyone.

I don't know what the price was I'm afraid, but they were happy with it at the time. They also did some cheap melamine bedroom units in my parents place where they just wanted some quick and easy storage. So I'd imagine they can vary the quality of the materials and details to suit the budget.

The likes of the panelling centre may be cheaper for standard units, where the smaller shops come into their own is that they can make units to suit your kitchen rather than being forced to slot set size units into the space you have available.

Cheap kitchens Wexford Kilkenny Wexford

I used Direct2U Kitchens in wexford and found them very good with prices. They supply flat pack kitchens. I had a carpenter to install the kitchen but they said they have installers if needed. I found them on Google at kitchenswexford.com Hope this helps.

@Easyguy1, could you clarify what connection if any you have to the site you linked to? It seems a bit odd that a 1st time poster would resurrect a 3-year-old thread just to recommend a new website. Hopefully the kitchens are of better quality than the website.
