Last night I finished a five night cookery course called 'Quick Entertaining' at the Dublin Cookery School (http://www.dublincookeryschool.ie). I'm not a great cook myself but I'm ok and I wanted to add to my usual list of favourite dishes so that I could surprise friends and family invited to dinner or a party.
Dublin Cookery School is out in Blackrock, just off Carysfort Avenue in a fab new facility. Each night of the course we learned how to prepare a three course menu. Each night would begin with a demo and then we were let loose on the kitchen.
I have to say that I was more than impressed by the quality of the teaching, the facility and the many staff who were on hand to help after the demo when it came time to get our hands dirty! Pretty much every dish we prepared is one I'd be happy to serve at home because the recepies and method are all easy and straighforward.
I have no connection with this company at all other than being a MORE than satisfied student. I'd be happy to return to extend my skills further. All in all, a great value for money course, a well organised, well run facility, five nights of beautiful three course meals and lots of ideas for future entertaining.
I recommend to anyone wanting to learn a bit more or looking for an unusual gift idea for someone!
