Recommend structural engineer/surveyor for legal issue

Hi all,

Please feel free to move this if it is in the wrong place, however I have posted here as I am looking for a structural engineer/structural surveyor to carry out a report in the context of a possible action against a builder.

I am not sure whether there are specific firms that would be experienced and competent in dealing with such matters from a legal angle (as opposed to a pre-purchase survey) and who'd be happy to be called on to attend court should it come to that.

If anyone has any recommendations I'd be glad to hear them

Usually your solicitor would advise. They will know best which engineers take on potentially litigious matters in your area.
 
You need a fully qualified structural engineer who is willing not alone to inspect and report but to attend court. There are many such practices all around the country.

Many people practice as engineers or architects etc without any qualifications at all, or with less than full qualifications. They may be as competent as any, but are reluctant to go to court.
