Recommend me a golf 08/09

Ok have an 02 VW Polo with 40k miles on it looking at trading it in for a VW Golf. Looking for something decent. Checked the VW website along with CBG and Carzone.Won't be doing much mileage.Don't have a scooby doo about cars so looking for someone to recommend one for me in Dublin Area. Also what should I ask and approx what percent should I get of if I offer cash.Any recommendations / tips.

2 k diff and getting €3500 for 02 polo base 41k miles on clock. Only issue is that there is no jack to insert mp3 player on stereo. Prices across all dealers seem to be the same and in comparison to the North overpriced. Want to trade in old car so have to buy down south
