recommen a town to stop overnight between Limerick and Mayo

Hi,
We will be travelling around Ireland next week and will be leaving Limerick around 6pm on Sunday evening and will be heading to Westport for a few days. We would like to stop somewhere on the way can anyone recommend a nice stop with a nice restaurant that opens on Sunday evening with a pub or 2 close by a cute village or town would suit. We were thinking of detouring to some part of Clare like Doolin but if anyone can recommend a place on the way I would love to hear it
 
id prefer Kinvara to Clarinbridge, have Pier Head Restaurant with stunning views, check Tripadvisor for reviews. Food was excellent every time I was there and also service excellent. Kinvara is as "cute" village as you can get (turn left at Kilcolgan and 10-15 minutes drive out to the sea).
