Recipe - African rice

Hi was wondering if anyone out there had a recipe for spicey African rice? I haven't been able to find one on the internet so far that replicates what I had at a party where a Nigerian friend of a friend cooked the rice. I know that they use the stock cube magi and I have that but not sure what else they do. Any ideas? Thanks!

From memory, when I watched a Nigerian friend cook it - it involved making a tomato sauce with thyme and chilli as seasonings and reducing it to a thick paste. Then she cooked the rice with chicken stock and the tomato paste. She had boiled chicken pieces to make stock an had the cooked chicken with the rice.

I don't remember what else she did, unfortunately, but maybe this is enough to get you started?

Sounds a lot like Cajun dirty rice to me.
