Recent terror alerts

Am I right in thinking that after all the hours I have spent in intrusive security checks in various airports, all a terrorist had to do was post a bomb because they don't check cargo. So they stop some woman carrying perfume but allow any sort of package on board as long as it has a stamp? So bizarre. I always presumed every bit of luggage or cargo put on a commercial flight was checked.

I was under the assumption that cargo luggage was checked by the sniffer dogs.

Was I wrong?

There must be checks on checked in luggage, sure otherwise you could put anything in there
