Rebuild cost

Hi Guys

Well got mortgage approved etc found house put deposit down valuers reports came back all ok with me apart from rebuild cost. E240k for house that cost 160k also my fiance has friends who are builders and say even after taken ruble away etc rebuild cost should be no more than 150k.
my thing is my building insurance then would be extra because of this extra 90k. apart from getting my valuation redone again is there anything i can do???
 
You don't want a valuation done (valuers generally know diddly-squat about rebuild costs) you want a survey done by a professionally qualified surveyor - see other threads about surveys.

You did get a full structural survey done, didn't you? Surveyors here
 
Well we did get Survey done.
It was by my Father; Retired Builder & My Boyfriends Sister who is a Civil Engineer.
 
Sound, sure you're grand so. Just submit their report to your broker / insurance company and they'll be able to quote you on the insurance, or use the calculator on the site I linked to above to get an idea of the premium.

(I'm not a surveyor and have no connection with insurance, chartered surveyors or the surveyors' web-site).
