From the time you pay a booking deposit on a property where the offer is accepted to the date of closeure, what is a reasonable time frame? I had the offer accepted about four weeks ago and the process has been moving along bit by bit. (I'm not in a hurry) But the real estate agent is ringing me daily for updates as if things are not moving quickly enough. Whats reasonable?

6 weeks.
and we had the EA scareing us telling us that the vendors were pulling out because we were dragging our feet.... . so i learned my lesson - i will never respect EA's as being a "decent profession"

Can the vendor pull out if things are not moving as quickly as he/she would like? I've paid a 5,000 booking deposit..

Booking deposit, as far as I know, has no legal meaning in that either party can pull out up until the point that the contracts are signed. I suppose the booking deposit is there to show some real intention to go ahead with a sale but it doesnt stop either party pulling out.
