The Financial Regulator keeps up to date cost comparisons on its website:
http://www.itsyourmoney.ie/costcomparisons.jsp
Thanks for the link Brendan. I'm a little confused having read some of the details on it. I'm interested in opening a joint deposit account with my wife for 20k. When I look at all the banks home pages I see varios info including: Irish Nationwide have a fixed rate of 6%; Rabo have 4.35% and on this link ([broken link removed]) compare their rate to AIB rate of .5%; itsyourmoney verifies that rate of .5%, but the AIB site shows 5.25% AER up to 10K. Am I missing something?? I'm sure itsyourmoney is not that far wrong so maybe there is a reasonable explanation. Any replies welcome as I feel I might not be asking all the right questions when I am getting the info from the banks.
