The girlfriend has had a problem with her golf for the past few months. Finally brought it into Kelly's Garage in Rathmines this morning and it was put up on a diagnostics machine. Told her the alternator needs replacing. The quoted her €340 for a new one or €169 for a re-conditioned one. It will cost €230 in total including labour. I myself don't drive so I don't know much abour cars to be honest so s €169 expensive for a re-conditioned alternator?
