Re-attaching Alarm wiring costs

For the past 3 years I've been without an alarm for the house after having the house re-wired the sensors were not re-connected as the electricians said that the alarm company must do this. I let it go but am now looking to re-connect the alarm to the wiring and also attach 3 new sensors as windows were changed to doors and a new front door was attached.

The quote from the original suppliers was €540 for installing 3 new sensors and then a €190 a year maintenance/monitoring cost. I thought it would be less than this, anyone got any recommendations or cost opinions? A

My main concern really is in the case of a break-in that the insurance will pay out so want to have alarm fixed but at cheapest possible price.

Wrong forum for recommendations, but you should do slightly better than €190 for the annual monitoring.

Unless your electricians were PSA registered at the time, the both you and they would have been breaking the law if they were to re-wire the sensors.

Hi,

Last year I had all windows replaced in the house, which meant re-connection of sensors & in some cases replacement sensors... was originally quoted €290, but after alarm company guy did the work, there wasn't the expected work he thought and charged just under €200 (existing wiring to sensors didn't need replacement)... I don't have monitoring as part of the alarm.

€540 for reconnecting the sensors / new sensors seems, to me, a bit high. How many sensors have you internally? is there other work besides reconnecting the sensors that need to be done?

@Leo yeah I was more looking for opinions on price than people, and my electricians were well aware they couldn't reconnect the sensors.

@jazz all the wiring is in place, it's really just connecting 3 sensors to the wiring that is already there, so supply and fit of 3 sensors

thanks, glad to find that pricing is a bit high.

As an FYI....I had ~12 WIRELESS sensors re-installed by Phonewatch for €100 after I had my doors/windows changed.
