Ratoath to Dublin commute

I have been commuting from Ratoath to Merrion Sq for the past 2 years but getting fed up with daily 3 hr bus journey. I am considering purchasing 125cc moped. I have looked into Licence and Insurance. Is anyone else doing this or have any suggestions?

Forget about getting a 125cc, to little power for the journey.

I had a 100cc moped and traded it in for a 250cc when I moved from Dublin to Ratoath. It's a fantastic bike for the journey, which only takes me 35 minutes (without breaking any speed limits) to get from the village to stephen's green. The big help is the new N2, and carefully using the bus lane all the way from the M50 junction to glasnevin.

I highly recomend it, I would never dream of commuting by car!
