Hi All, looking for some advice on the above website. My mortgage broker is offering a deal where they subsidise the cost of conveyancing. The solicitor appointed appears on the "Wall of Shame" on Ratemysolicitor.com.

I've just gone sale agreed at a good price (I was not the highest bidder - or so I was told) on the basis that I would be able to move quickly on the deal.

On the basis of that website I'd be straight back on to the mortgage broker to appoint a different solicitor though I couldn't discount the fact that many of the comments appeared to be personal grievances.

Bottom line, is the site accurate?

On the basis of some of the comments on that site, I suspect not. But would you not prefer to use a solicitor recommended to you by someone you trust? It is by far the best way to choose a solicitor.

I can guess the broker and the solicitor in question. I am also going through the broker and solicitor firm in question. In my case I am dealing not with the guy mentioned on the site, but one of his partners. I have found her to be excellent so far, she always answers queries quickly, gives good advice and carries out instructions accurately.
