Hi,

Is their a general feeling amongst all the clued-in people here as to when AIB would be likely to raise their standard rate again (and by how much)?

Is another raise in 2010 likely?

This speculation is probably as accurate as dowsing but I'd be interested to hear people's opinions.

I've a one year fixed ending in a few weeks and I'm torn between the options.
One day I think I'll fix for 3 (even 5!) years - the next day I assume that all the rate raises are "priced in" and I'd be better off on a variable...

Cheers,
Agwa

don't be surprised to see another 50bps rise from mortgage lenders early next year, could even be another 50bps in h2 2011

forecasted to be 25bps ecb rate rise toward the end of next year, not sure after that

If you look at the market commetators the talk is almost everyone is predicting rising rates. No one is predicting falls and few if any predict #
the status quo. You have to assume that the only way they can go is up.
5 years hence no one has a clue but the next 3 years I would guess some rises would be highly likely. I would lock in for 3 years assuming you can get a good deal.
