railway sleepers cost

would anyone know how much railway sleepers generally cost.i bought 4 in a hardware shop recently @25euro each and i am thinking of using sleepers for kerbing the drive and around the house but the shop wont budge on the price no matter how many i buy.bought them in galway maybe they could be cheaper elsewhere

Doesn't answer your question but are you aware of the recent controversy about the possible toxicity of sleepers (e.g. due to the presence of creosote and other potential carcinogens) that were previously used on the railways (as opposed to replicas if such things exist)? I think that there was talk of a ban on them. You should take cognisance of this especially if you have kids or pets.

never thought of that,maybe there is a way of sealing them.as far as i can see they seem to be very popular in gardens and driveways

They are very popular. But they can also be very toxic! Might be some useful info among . The issue was highlighted in the media recently too.
