Radio Arial for Mazda 323f 97 model getting stuck

Hello all,

I'm driving Mazda 323F at moment and when i switch on engine the arial goes up. However, now it's getting stuck and making a dreadful noise. Again when I switch off the engine it doesn't go down properly. It's going to ruin the motor at this rate and I'm wondering if anyone can help.

Have replaced a few electric aerial motor relays for the same problem.

You could try remove it and give it a good clean and spray some contact spray on it and see if it is it and it would buy you some time to get one before it burns the motor out.
 
Maybe 3 or 4 euro if you could get it in a motor factors. 9 or 10 prob from a main dealer if it's a special type, usually 3 or 4 pin relay.
 
The one on my 323f gave up the ghost a couple of years back. I tried stripping and cleaning, but the gearing inside was worn. Replaced the whole thing easily enough. Maplin sell [broken link removed] for a little over €30.

dat brill but were u able 2 do it urself or did u have 2 get garage 2 do it????
