Radiator Covers

I am thinking of covering an unsightly storage heater in my living room with a radiator cabinet. Is that OK to do? An electrician told me that it might cause overheating and cause a switch to trip. Does anybody have any experience of them? Thanks in advance

Bought one a while ago in Homebase. MDF panels that needed painting. No problems with overheating or anything like that though. Looks great too.

you should note that these covers reduce the efficiency of the radiator, and so your heating bills will increase.

Thanks guys. So even though its storage heaters that I have I can still use those covers? That's great

Check the manual for the heaters; that should let you know. The last question in the [broken link removed] on the Dimplex site strongly advises against using covers. But then you get places like this making and selling them.
