I see Rabodirect are offering a up front €30 for any new saving account openings before the end of the year. [broken link removed]
Given the apparent lack of conditions attached and the low rates in general, surely a lump sum deposited here at the not unreasonable rate of 2.0% PLUS the €30 bonus is better than most in the market? I didn't notice this in the Best Buys section.
Accounts mus be opened beore 31/12/13.
Just an update - my account with Rabobank has been opened, when I logged into it online today for the first time the €30was sitting in the account. In theory I could withdraw this amount straight away and close the account.
Reminds me of all the college offerings the banks had in the 90s where you could open an account and pick up all the freebies on day one... they were later amended so that the account would need to be used for a period before the benefits were available. I suppose in this case the offer lapses in 5 weeks so is of limited scope.
