quote for a plumber

Can anyone estimate how much a plumber would/should charge me to install a new draining board, remove and replace a shower door and install 4 taps one being a bath mixer tap. The plumber i got for a quote charges by the hour which is €40 but seeing as we wont be there to see him doing the installations we can supervise how long he takes doing the jobs ie if he charges us for 8 hours work and only spent 4 hours there! ask him how long it will take him, say roughly, and by the way this is cheap.

Yes, i agree, thats very cheap for a plumber. The fact that he is quoting at all for a small job, what area are you in? Can i have his number? I need a sink and an american fridge plumbed in and can't get anyone even to quote me! Let me know if he is any good!

Sounds like enough work for him to say will take a day- in which case it may not end up all that reasonable after all. Agree with others that plumbers are a law unto themselves though- hold onto him.
