quit your job and get benefit ?

hi,
My girlfriend is in a secure job, but wants to leave to study; she thinks she will get unemployment benefit as she has worked 5 years straight.
I’m not so sure and think she will have to wait a number of weeks at least before getting dole as she was not laid off,

any ideas whats right?
 
Plus she won't be enitlted to Jobseekers as she is studying, not looking for fulltime work.
