Quickest way to post to UK?

Any ideas on the quickest way to get an envelope over to the UK, at a reasonable cost (i.e. not a courier which presumably would cost €€€)? Is Express Post the only option? I think it doesn't really work outside of Ireland. Or does it? Any other options?

Express Post only works within the '32 counties'; otherwise, An Post's Courier Post starts at €16.95 for a letter up to 100g.

You could try ringing a few courier services, if there are any near you? They may not be much more expensive. Alternatively, from N.I. you can get Next Day delivery from .

Rang two local post offices and was told that the courier service guarantees delivery "in one to three days". Not possible to be more specific than that. Size of envelope suggested a price of €38.70. Destination is Oxford city, not a rural area.

Regular post can get there in two to three days. I'll take my chances. Would be prepared to pay the €38 if they would guarantee next day delivery, but not this rubbish.
