no problem. There are other fillers available, from your paint shop. The one I bought was a big bucket, .. it's quite cheap, but may shrink slightly.. this may not matter if you can overspread it and sand it back.. fill deep holes in several applications, leaving it for a day before going again with more filler. You can get better fillers which don't shrink, but they're sold in smaller tins for a similar price.
Zinsser BIN is a primer, it's quite expensive but is very good at covering stains.. you might not need it, it's hard to say without seeing the damage..
These fillers aren't as good as getting the wall replastered, but they're a good cheaper alternative.
You shouldn't ignore the leaking roof... you should look into getting it fixed, it may only be a broken tile or something, but it's unlikely it'll fix itself, maybe the water is going somewhere now where it's doing more damage!!!
