Well queueing overnight for a house at least makes a little more sense than queueing overnight for a couch or for a couple of weeks for a holiday in my view.

Just for what it's worth I queued overnight for our second house six years ago - back then it was "normal" for people to queue overnight but I haven't heard of too much of it since.

Have to say it was well worth queueing as we got exactly the house we wanted and had a bit fun with our soon to be neighbours aswell!!

Indeed. I probably missed it, but I'm sure that RTE news felt it necessary to devote 5 mins to the fact that people had been queuing outside Budget Travel for 3 weeks for a free holiday.

It seems to be more frequent now out west of Dublin - I know this happened in Maynooth last year too for a new estate there...
