Question reqarding self building

Good Afternoon,

Love the forum, being a voyeur for a while now, first time poster....

I have a 1 acre of land, and want to build. What are the banks currently offering with regards the finance of a self-build.

Also I'm been in contact with an architect, quoting me up to €2,500, with regard everything up to planning stage, is this reasonable do you think?

You can get a mortgage of up to 100% of the build costs.

I'm no help on the architect quote I'm afraid.

Thanks Girlf, the architect I have in mind seems pretty good, have only heard good stories from people, and the buildings he has been involved with have been pretty good. All in all, what do you think would be a decent budget on say an 2500sqft house...?
