Question regarding redundancy - Years worked under an employment agency.

Hi all,

I have been made redundant in my company after almost 14 years. I worked the first 4.5 years for them under an employment agency (CPL). At the time I signed a temporal contract which did not seem to have an end date and after 4.5 years I was made permanent in my role.

Is there any entitlement I have for those 4.5 years? From company making me redundant or statutory redundancy?

Any point in talking to Solicitor or this is dead-talk?

Any advise given would be much appreciated.

Has your company specifically stated that you are not getting redundancy for that period?
They have not yet but my guess is that they will not and just wondering if I have any right to anything for those 4.5years either from my current employer or the government.

Hi Gaelgo

It's a while since I have been involved in this area, but your start date is the date you began with CPL.

I can't remember the legislation. There used to be a National Employments Rights Agency who could answer this question. Not sure where they are now.
