Question regarding family income supplement.

We applied for FIS in November 2007 and received an acknowledgement letter a couple of weeks later stating that our application would take some time due to the backlog. We haven’t heard anything since, does it normally take this long to process FIS claims?......and my other question is, does your claim get backdated to the date of you application?
 
The straight answer to your question is yes it can take that long.

Yes your claim will be back-dated to the date on which they received your claim
