Question on one parent family payment

Hi,

I am going out with a girl who is claiming One-Parent Family Payment.
She has one child from a previous relationship.
We are thinking about moving in together and are wondering how this may affect her entitlements.

I have checked the DSFA site and see the issue of Cohabitation
Just wondering if anyone has expierence of this?

One of the qualifying conditions for One-Parent Family Payment is that she is not co-habiting so therefore it looks like she would loose her payment even though this is not your child

Yep - that is what I am thinking.
Does the father still have to pay maintenance though??...

Have you checked CitizensInformation for info about this sort of thing?

Yep I have - I couldn't find the answer to the maintenance question though.

Of course all fathers have an obligation to maintain their children regardless of whether they live with them or not.
They are not obliged to maintain the mother of those children unless married to her
