Question for Auctioneers/Farmers!

Wondering what the average price per acre for agricultural land in County Laois is or alternatively other midland counties.

Farmers Journal survey from January 2005 had price at 10,800 euro per acre which reflected a 9% rise in the previous 12 months

Would Euro 10,800 per acre be the average price if you were buying quite a few acres together or do you think it may reflect the price if one were to buy just one acre? I wonder how much an acre would cost in south Kildare?

I think the general rule is the greater the amount of acreage You wish to purchase the lower the price will be. I wish to purchase 14 acres and am hoping to buy at 12,000 an acre.

To answer Your question on Kildare prices - The same survey quoted the average for Dublin/Wicklow/Kildare as 17,100 - Quite a difference!
