Question about solicitor fee.

Hi,
I received a quote verbally for solictors fee's and after the work was completed the bill I received was roughly double the quoted amount.
Myself and another person were present for the verbal quotation as the work was being done for us. Do I have any recourse to query or appeal the bill? Apologies if this is not a question answerable here, first time post.

is teh FEE double what you were quoted, or is the TOTAL BILL high? You may have asked the fee, s/he told yo uthe fee, but there are various add ons including VAT which will make it much higher.

for example, you might be told that house purchase fee is €800. Add on all the extras and VAT and you might not have much change out of €2000
