Hello.

My dad bought some medical equipment and he is able to reclaim tax on the cost of this. However he has already received PRSI payment that covered some of the cost. When I look at the online form he has to fill in when submitting his (online) tax return there are two fields to be filled in:
  • Other medical expenses
  • Dental and/or medical expenses refunded
So, in the "Other medical expenses" field should I enter the full amount and then enter the amount received from PRSI in the "Dental and/or medical expenses refunded" field? Or should I deduct the amount received from PRSI and enter the remainder in the "Other medical expenses" field and enter 0 (zero) in the "Dental and/or medical expenses refunded" field ?

Thanks for any help offered.
