Hi, I have a question about importing my car from the UK into Ireland. I have been living and working in the UK for the last 3 years but only bought my car in Feb 2009. I am starting a job in Ireland in the Summer and will not have the full 6 months of ownership in the uk. My question is does the VRT office check my social security number to see if I have been earning in Ireland over this 6 month period I have to prove ownership. I can probably leave the car for a month and bring it into Ireland so I have the six months but I am just wondering what they check or what documents you need to present to the VRT office. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
