Hi, I was wondering where does a customer stand with regards to deposits. I ask because of a recent mistake we made that ended up quite costly. We bought couple bathroom suites/showers, a fitted kitchen and fitted wardrobes. The house we were due to buy fell through and we had to cancel it all.
The bathroom company were really good with us. Offered us full refund if we took credit with them but in the end we took a hit of 425 euro's to return it. They gave some explanation about vat returns or something.
The kitchen company ended up charging us 1500 euro's for cancelling. I appreciate that they would want something but i found this excessive. The other suspicious thing is that I received a strange invoice from them during the week that seems to charge us the 1500 for the actual supply of something but we cancelled everything and never received anything from them ?
Any opinions ?
